My Approach

My work focuses on client-centered therapy.  First and foremost, I believe the relationship between therapist and client is the most valuable tool in the room.  I want to provide you with a place where you can feel seen and understood while at the same time find meaning and hope within your struggles.  I believe people are the experts on their own lives and generally just need help untangling the burdens they bear.  I will listen to you, empathize with you, and challenge you.  Through it all you will find the strength to make the changes in your life you so desperately want.

Beyond building a trusting relationship, I use a variety of methods because I do not believe one size fits all.  I would consider my orientation to be psychodynamic, with a focus on object relations.  I have been trained in the Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM) for trauma and also utilize CBT, Mindfulness, Gestalt, and DBT.  Again, I do not believe one size fits all and work to utilize the interventions that will best suit your needs.
